Luang Prabang is emerging as one of Southeast Asia’s fastest growing tourist destinations, fueling an expansion of airline services in 2016, according to Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation’s recent analysis.

Construction of a railway linking Laos and China, destined to stretch to ASEAN neighbours, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore, should begin in November this year. 

President Barack Obama will be the first U.S. president to visit Laos when he attends an Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit in that country next year.

Accor has signed an agreement with KS Hotels and Resorts to manage two hotels in Lao PDR and one hotel in Thailand.
